Group project Manufacturing/production

OVERPOPULATION-(MANUFACTURING/PRODUCTION)

-Global issues states that the existing problem is the mass consumption and coming from Europe and America. That puts a strain on environmental natural resources. That affects the society.
-Industries are constantly changing patterns due to mass consumption.
-Globally, the 20% of the world's people in the highest-income countries account for 86% of total private consumption expenditures - the poorest 20% a minuscule 1.3%. More specifically, the richest fifth:

Consume 45% of all meat and fish, the poorest fifth 5%.
Consume 58% of total energy, the poorest fifth less than 4%.
Have 74% of all telephone lines, the poorest fifth 1.5%.
Consume 84% of all paper, the poorest fifth 1.1%.
Own 87% of the world's vehicle fleet, the poorest fifth less than 1%.
-below global issues site gives stats about global consumption of some countries on energy.Per capital energy consumption of selected countries-Global issues states that the existing problem is the mass consumption and coming from Europe and America. That puts a strain on environmental natural resources. -As you can see the United States consume toughs the most after Germany
-The wealthiest countries consume the most.
-The wealthier countries are in massive need of the cash crops(bananas, sugar,)
-Countries even the US has to clear land to start raising cows or planting, farming to produce.
-The us holds a 5% of the the global population and yet they consume 40% of consumption and resources and emits 21% of carbon  dioxide .
-They also state even though the US isn't the most populated they consume the most.
-Another site people and planet states that at this rate we are putting alot of pressure on the companies who are producing masses to take measure to find a faster way to produce.Which can lead to messing with ecosystems with damaging results.
-from 1972-2011 2.5 billion food sources are needed more now than ever.
-As our population grows means more jobs to create and more ideas to be created.
-That leads to human daily activities can affect and destroy 11% globes arable land(size of china and India combined)

environmental health-Growth population

After watching the growth population video it opened my thoughts and making me wonder and Adding thins up. How it's affecting every aspect of life of how overpopulated we are getting. After watching the other videos I can realate them to one of the reasons is we are over populated that 1. We forget to take care of our enviroment. 2. It's affecting our animals 3. Food shortage 4. Global warming  its scary how how world was made for humans yet one day we won't be able all to fit. So I looked up more inforamtion about this problem. This article that was written 2002 by Anup Shah (bhttp://www.globalissues.org/issue/198/human-population) it breaks it down in sections I will briefly explain. They state that one day we will be fighting a war against nature. Here's the main topics they explain:
Population And Feeding The World
• food is becoming scarce it's geting more expensive to purchase food.

Especially when considering that "[g]lobally, the 20% of the world's people in the highest-income countries account for 86% of total private consumption expenditures - the poorest 20% a minuscule 1.3%", according to the United Nations Development Programme's 1998 Human Development Report.

Other Issues Affect And Get Affected By Population

•the bigger our population gets we are also being affected health care being affected food more expensive it's affecting everyone individually.

Effects Of Over-Consumption And Increasing Populations

•as our populati

Gender And Population Issues

Pregnancy

The video of NOVA was the most amazing progress of the process of a pregnancy. I'm a mom and I just knew the basic phrase a man and a woman make a baby. Then nine months later here comes the baby. But now I know the true understandment of the whole process from day 1 to its last days. It's incredible how one sperm goes through alot to get to the egg. How that fetus progresses over the months. How a woman's body has to prepare itself for this process and how humans are the ones who have the most difficult birth than animals. I'm thankful that now I'm informed more than I was pregnant. Now I know what it takes for if I ever get pregnant again in future I know what my body is going trough day by day.

No bullying allowed!!

I was introduced to this video in class. "Bully" you can rent the movie and also purchase it online. Here's the link -->http://www.thebullyproject.com/, a little more about this movie it's a documentary and reality of teens that face challenges at school and In their community. Simply because they are differ and are bullied. The victims were tyler who sadly committed suicde after a long battle of bullies harassing him and attacking him. Then there's Kelby who is gay and her community doesn't accept her and she is the center of humor. Then theres Alex who gets pushed around and down talked. All this victims at points communicate with their parents and the concerned parents aware the school and sadly no one does nothing. That's why the movie was made to aware the world that it's a problem and it's going on. The link above also is the main site to all the organizations who support to speak up against bullying. They are supported and support other bullying campaigns. This movie was we opener I have a son and it worries me becuase society has certain expectations of how people should be and look like. But it's not a relaity and these bullies make It known. I don't want my son to face these challenges if he doesn't for this "criteria". These poor parents couldn't help their kids and worries me that I won't either. I just honk the government should step in and make an effort and enforce regiulations. This is endangering kids life's at school making them not feel safe. I just think the way things are going my son isn't safe.   Hers some stats found on dosomething.org
